This Must Be the Place: Il Podcast ha preso forma in un momento di ascolto collettivo, intenso e partecipato, in cui abbiamo attraversato insieme lo spazio pubblico con le parole, le esperienze e le battaglie di chi ogni giorno sfida ciò che sembra immodificabile.
Questa occasione ha superato i confini di un evento chiuso, aprendosi a una comunità ampia e inaspettata, tra persone curiose e passanti in ascolto anche solo per un frammento di racconto. Un live condiviso e aperto capace di generare confronto e dialogo, far circolare domande, a creare nuove connessioni intorno a temi spesso rimossi o relegati ai margini.
Le tre puntate, attualmente disponibili su Spotify, danno spazio a storie troppo spesso ignorate o silenziate, segnate da esclusione, stigmatizzazione, negazione di possibilità. Ma sono anche narrazioni di resistenza e di immaginazione, capaci di aprire varchi là dove sembra non esserci via d’uscita.

Si parla di autodeterminazione delle persone con disabilità, del diritto a vivere lo spazio urbano senza timore, della violenza sistemica che colpisce le persone transgender sul lavoro, delle difficoltà reali nell’accesso all’aborto in molti contesti europei, dell’esclusione delle donne e delle soggettività LGBTQIA+ dalla vita pubblica.

This Must Be the Place: The Podcast came to life during a moment of collective, intense, and engaged listening, where we moved together with adult citizens through the public space with the words, experiences, and struggles of those who challenge what seems unchangeable everyday of their lives.
This moment went beyond the boundaries of a closed event, opening up to a broad and unexpected community — curious individuals and passersby who stopped to listen, even just for a fragment of the story. A shared and open live event in the urban space capable of sparking dialogue and debate, circulating questions, and creating new connections around issues that are often dismissed or left at the the margins.
The three episodes, currently available on Spotify, give voice to stories that are too often ignored or silenced — marked by exclusion, stigma, and denied opportunities. But they are also stories of resistance and imagination, capable of opening paths to streets that seemed initially closed.
Recorded in Italy, Spain, and Greece, This Must Be the Place is a multilingual podcast (available in Italian, English, Spanish, Catalan, and Greek) designed to break down language barriers and connect diverse experiences and shared challenges of women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
It addresses the self-determination of people who are disabled by the barriers of society, the right to live in urban spaces without fear, the systemic violence faced by transgender people in the workplace, the real difficulties in accessing abortion in many European contexts, and the exclusion of women and LGBTQIA+ individuals from public life.
