This video was created as part of Elephant Talk, a European project co-funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme of the European Union, which aimed to address and challenge online gender-based violence — with a particular focus on body shaming — among young people. Through a combination of participatory data collection, international training courses, and collaborative creative workshops, Elephant Talk empowered young people and youth workers to better understand how hate manifests online, how it affects individuals and communities, and how collective action and storytelling can be used as tools for change. The project brought together youth organisations, media professionals, and educators to design new methodologies for gathering and visualising data on online hate speech, and to transform that knowledge into creative outputs. This video reflects the voices, ideas, and experiences of young participants in the project and aims to raise awareness about the impact of body shaming and online harassment while promoting empathy, diversity, and respect in digital spaces.
